Im sure you have heard us all complain about the new caps filter. Yes, while it does serve a purpose, it seems as though no one approves of it (including the mods). So, if its not a problem, we request that capslock be restored.
My next note is the ability to kick for Vips. Many of times, a griefer or troll has gotten on and there are no mods or deputies on. This is annoying cause all us vips can do is either troll back or say “Just wait till the mod gets on!” We need a way to control these people, because it doesnt seem a mod or dep is on when we truely need them. I concur. Sil, do all of the things listed above.
a) No.
b) I have added a vote system. /mutevote, /kickvote. Deputies can even /banvote, though this is not the same as a normal ban, so do not use it unless you HAVE to.
c) /release list + /release #n will REMOVE these vote mutes/bans, for deps+.

The “nope” was to the first part. I think kicking is a futile exercise in general. I would prefer to give people the ability to /ignore that they once had, but there just isn’t a damn plugin that can do that. And chat formatting plugins are an incredibly mixed bag.
Things like essentials have some of these things, but then I would have to manually disable 90% of the plugin just to use the 10% I need. It’s a real PITA.
I know the nope was to the first part, that was kinda the center of the topic but its ultimately your decision.
From the regular member/player’s perspective, althought it was already decided, I think that we shouldn’t have the ability of vips to kick.
That would make higher ranks such as deputy useless, except for the title itself being in higher position than VIP.
Also if people are doing stuff which they should be kicked/muted/banned for, same goes for regular members/players. We can’t kick them. I don’t think VIPs should have more abilities. But then, that’s just my opinion.
Deputies have the ability to tempban as well as promote to Regular and check/rollback trial world changes, as well as having expanded worldedit and other plugin powers.
Kicking would definitely not make them useless. But as I just said, I don’t think kicking is really going to accomplish anything. The real trolls just get back on and all you really accomplish is feeling good about yourself for a few seconds.
Regardless, this is how it works in greater detail:
REGULARS AND UP can vote to mute a player. PRIV AND UP can vote to kick. I may reverse these or remove the kick option altogether… since it is just fuel to the fire for these people. DEP AND UP can manage mutes that have passed.
I have located the config portion that controls the caps filter and lowered the restrictions a bit. I need to submit a ticket to the author to see if he can change it to a percentage-based check for a whole line rather than a per-word strict limit caps filter.
Found /ignore plugin. Regs+ should have access, and Deps+ are immune to being ignored. Hate a deputy? Well, too bad I guess.
