Small Issue...

Trial is not working out so well. Apparently instead of reading the rules or being told to read them, new players are simply told to “build something”.
Hmm lets explore the mind of a griefer for a second.
Griefer: HMMM ALL I HAVE TO DO IS BUILD A HOUSE AND ILL GET PROMOTED AND GRIEF THE REAL SERVER.
THAT WILL BE FUNNY BECAUSE DEPS CANT ROLL BACK IN ANY OTHER WORLD AND THERE IS NEVER A MOD ON WHEN YOU NEED ONE HYUK HYUK HYUK.
^ This needs to stop. I saw I guy that was promoted go into trial and spam wool and destroy shit. Tried to roll him back but guess what doesnt work… Yeah, that.

I cleaned up a bit of his stuff because it was on another person’s creation but I didn’t see it everywhere… He seemed like a genuinely nice person and he built some cool stuff, that was the reason he was promoted. This is not trial’s fault because it catches most people.

The alternative is taking two minutes to nicely write a forum post that tells us nearly nothing and immediately gives them access to all of creative. For one thing, that system drastically reduced the number of people who even bothered trying out the server. In addition, it was probably an even poorer roadblock to a determined griefer than the current system.

Apparently I have to say this again: The forums are here for a reason. REPORT GRIEFERS AND SOMEBODY WILL SEE THE POST AND RESPOND TO IT. In fact, this is an excellent way for you to demonstrate to me that YOU ARE BEING AN ACTIVE DEPUTY. Write coordinates, or at the very least write the name of the griefer and the world. That’s all you have to do.

That being said, please try to be selective when approving trial creations. You should be demanding at least some level of complexity above and beyond “not just a box house”. In fact, I would suggest telling trial players to create “something unique,” since there’s really no need for it to be a house or building. And always, always double check what they say they made with logblock. People lie and try to pass off other buildings as their own.

Excellent point. Hoho, why don’t we quiz them before they receive a promotion? That way, the griefing can only be because of BETRAYAL.
That probably made no sense… Sigh
