Welp, it’s up but I lost my damn permissions. At least the computer is ‘fixed.’ But it turned out in the long run that the whole issue was a failure of my specific mac address of my ethernet card (weird) and nothing wrong with Windows itself (beyond bizarre behavior). But that didn’t stop it from killing most of my installed program data, despite efforts to back them up. I copied files straight back to the installation directories and they failed. Sigh…
I’ll try to fix most of the permissions tomorrow. Yuck.
